Livestock farmers are major players in the production of our products. dairy products. In order for them to maintain the quality standards we seek, it is essential that they receive fair compensation for their work. This promotes long-term sustainability and stability throughout the value chain.
The value generated in the production and sale of our products is to shared with all participants in the chain, including farmers. This philosophy allows us to maintain strong relationships with our suppliers and ensure that everyone involved in the process benefits appropriately.

Generate 117MWh
As part of Quescrem’s commitment to sustainability, it was decided to start up the first biogas plant in the peninsula based on permeate and working exclusively with dairy products, thus becoming the pioneer in Spain and also the pioneer in Europe.
This plant transforms cheese production waste into energy, which is used to supply electricity to our factory. In this way, the waste has a lower environmental impact as it does not consume energy from non-renewable sources.
We generate 70MWh with photovoltaics
Much of the energy we use comes from renewable sources, especially solar energy. We use sunlight to generate electricity to run our operations. This is an environmentally friendly choice by reducing emissions, which helps us control energy costs in the long term.
In addition, by generating our own energy through the solar photovoltaic installation, we are actively contributing to the production of clean energy and to the reduction of our carbon footprint. All of this demonstrates Quescrem’s commitment to sustainability.

Data that support our values:
- We generate 117 MWh of electric energy with the biogas plant and 70 MWh of electric energy with the photovoltaic installation (electricity to supply about 57 homes).
- We avoided the emission of more than 66 t CO2.
- We manage more than 2,600 tons of permeate in the biogas plant.
- We treat more than 39,000 m3 of wastewater.
